Introduction:
Welcome to Southern Transitions: The Classic Quinn Chronicles, a blog chronicling the adventures of myself (Quinn), Mark, and our three boys as we embark on an exciting new chapter in our lives. After careful consideration and a strong desire for a fresh start, our family made the decision to move from Western Massachusetts to the rapidly-growing town of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. In this introductory blog post, we delve into our motivations, hopes, and dreams for our upcoming move.
A Decision for a Better Quality of Life:
In April, Mark and I made the life-altering decision to relocate to Mount Pleasant. We decided to trade cold winters and snow for sunshine and sand; trade mountains for the beach and ocean breezes; and trade Boston baked-beans for black-eyed peas. Mark, who works remotely, saw an opportunity for our family to experience a change of scenery and embrace a more relaxed lifestyle. I am nurse practitioner and recently resigned from my job due to work-related stress and a desire to prioritize my well-being. Having faced a breast cancer diagnosis in 2021, I realized the importance of reducing stress and spending more quality time with my husband and children.
Embracing Outdoor Adventures:
We are avid outdoor enthusiasts, finding joy in various activities that bring us closer to nature. From hiking through Massachusetts’ picturesque landscapes to playing tennis and enjoying local parks, we have cherished these moments together. With our upcoming move to Mount Pleasant, we eagerly anticipate exploring new hiking trails and basking in the sun-kissed beaches along the South Carolina coastline. We anticipate that the abundance of outdoor opportunities in our new community will align perfectly with our shared love for outdoor adventures. We also hope to continue to travel both domestically and internationally!
Countdown to a New Home:
With the closing date set for July 25, we eagerly anticipate settling into our new home in Mount Pleasant. We are excited as we envision creating a welcoming and peaceful space for our family. We look forward to uncovering the hidden gems of their new community, discovering local parks, playgrounds, and recreational facilities that will allow our boys to thrive. We also look forward to meeting our neighbors in our new community and making new friendships. In our current rural community, our kids have few friends close by and running errands means a long car ride. We are excited about having other families with children close by and short, convenient trips to run our errands.
A Blog Journey:
As we prepare for this transformative move, The Classic Quinn blog will serve as a platform for sharing our experiences, insights, and lessons learned along the way. From the challenges of packing up our life in Western Massachusetts to the joy of discovering our new community in Mount Pleasant, the blog will document our personal growth, triumphs, and memorable moments that come with embracing change.
Conclusion:
